Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary in Kannur is one of Kerala’s least-visited and most rewarding wildlife destinations — an absolute hidden gem for serious birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. The KFDC eco-farm stay offers 6 comfortable cottages inside the sanctuary surrounded by moist deciduous forest. Over 200 bird species have been recorded here, and elephant, leopard, and gaur are regularly sighted on guided forest trails. The sanctuary receives far fewer visitors than Wayanad or Munnar, making every encounter feel personal. Meals include traditional North Kerala cooking. The Aralam farm area has historical significance as a former government spice farm.
