The Eravikulam National Park eco huts near the park boundary offer accommodation close to the highest concentration of Nilgiri Tahr in the world at 2000m+ altitude. The park is home to over 750 Nilgiri Tahr — the endangered mountain goat found only in the Western Ghats. The eco huts allow access to dawn and dusk Tahr viewing when herds are most active near the trail. The park closes annually between February and March for Tahr calving. Online ticket booking for park entry is recommended as daily quota fills fast.
