The Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary bungalow is set near Asia’s first arch dam — the spectacular Idukki Arch Dam — with the Periyar River and dense forest on all sides. Tiger, elephant, leopard, and gaur inhabit the sanctuary. KFDC manages guided eco-treks inside the sanctuary and the famous suspension bridge over the Periyar River is a memorable experience. The surrounding landscape of reservoir, forest, and rocky hills is dramatically beautiful. An underrated destination that combines wildlife, engineering history, and pristine forest.
