Deep inside the Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary in Kollam, Kulathupuzha is a tribal settlement of the Kanikkar community set along the banks of the Kallada River in pristine riverine forest. The community-managed forest stay offers an authentic experience of life inside a Kerala forest — guided walks through riparian forest, traditional Kanikkar food, river swimming, and storytelling around evening campfires. Elephant and leopard are present in the surrounding forest. This is one of Kerala’s few genuine tribal eco-tourism experiences offering both wildlife and cultural immersion.
