Shendurney FIB — Ottakkal

The Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary rest house at Ottakkal in Kollam district offers one of Kerala’s most scenic forest bungalow stays — situated alongside the Kallada River inside the sanctuary. Elephant herds cross the river near the bungalow at dusk, making it one of the best places in Kerala for elephant viewing from a safe distance. The riparian forest is exceptionally rich in butterflies, birds, and aquatic wildlife. The famous Palaruvi waterfall is accessible as a day trip. The bungalow is the starting point for forest trails into Shendurney’s interior. A truly off-the-beaten-path destination in south Kerala.
