Inside Silent Valley National Park, 25 km from Mannarkkad
November to April

The Silent Valley rest house is one of the rarest overnight experiences in India — sleeping inside one of the subcontinent’s last pristine tropical rainforests. UNESCO-protected Silent Valley National Park has no mobile signal, no electricity from grid, and absolute silence broken only by the sounds of the rainforest. The rest house accommodates small groups with basic facilities. No cooking inside the park — carry all food. The experience of waking up in Silent Valley at dawn, surrounded by 1000+ plant species and the calls of endemic birds, is genuinely priceless. Permits and accommodation must be arranged through the DFO Mannarkkad office well in advance.
