Kerala Trek is an independent information portal providing trekking trail data, Forest Department permit guidance, forest stay listings, and safety information for Kerala, India. We are not affiliated with the Kerala Forest Department, Kerala Tourism, KFDC, or any government body unless explicitly stated.

We are an information and directory service only. We do not sell trekking packages, process bookings, issue permits, or operate any forest stays.

2. Information accuracy

We make every effort to ensure the information on this site is accurate and up to date. However:

  • Trail status (open/closed/restricted) can change at any time due to weather, wildlife movement, or Forest Department decisions.
  • Permit fees, timings, and office contact details are subject to change without notice.
  • Forest stay rates and availability must be verified directly with the property or Forest Department before visiting.
  • We are not responsible for any loss, injury, or inconvenience arising from reliance on information that has changed since publication.

Always verify current trail status, permit requirements, and fees directly with the relevant Forest Department office before commencing any trek.

3. No booking or reservation service

Kerala Trek does not accept bookings, reservations, or payments for any trail, forest stay, or trekking package. All links to booking portals (Forest Department, KFDC, Parambikulam, Periyar Foundation etc.) take you to third-party websites governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for transactions conducted on third-party sites.

4. Safety responsibility

Trekking in Kerala’s forests involves inherent risks including but not limited to:

  • Wildlife encounters (elephant, leopard, wild boar, venomous snakes)
  • Flash floods and landslides, particularly during and after monsoon season
  • No mobile signal in remote forest areas
  • Extreme weather conditions at high altitude
  • Physical injury from terrain

By using information from this site to plan a trek, you acknowledge that:

  • You undertake any trek entirely at your own risk
  • You are responsible for your own safety and that of your group
  • You will comply with all Forest Department rules and guide instructions

We do not verify operator credentials, insurance, or safety practices beyond basic listing requirements. You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence before engaging any operator.
